Specialoty retailer Cost Plus Inc. (CPWM) Thursday announced that its holiday sales for the nine-week period ended December 31, 2011 increased to $295.5 million from $277.5 million reported for the corresponding nine-week period last year.
Same store sales for the nine-week holiday period of fiscal 2011 increased 7.4% on top of a 7.0% increase for the comparable nine-week holiday period of fiscal 2010.
The company stated that the increase in same store sales was attributable to a 3.5% increase in customer count and a 3.7% increase in the average ticket per customer.
