Earnings Watch For January 23 (TXN, WDC, KSU, AEP)

Texas Instruments Inc. (TXN) is slated to report results for the fourth quarter. The maker of analog chips is expected to record a profit of $0.39 per share versus $0.78 per share last year, with revenues estimated at $3.25 billion. The company's shares closed Friday's session at $33.64. (The stock up about 6% in Q1; MA(50)- $30.01; MA(100)- $29.23; 52-wk H/L $36.71/$24.34)

World's largest hard-disk drive maker Western Digital Corp. (WDC) is due to post quarterly results. For the second quarter, earnings are expected to decrease year-over-year to $0.71 per share from $0.96 per share. Also, the company is anticipated to record revenues of $1.84 billion, lower than $2.48 billion recorded a year ago. WDC closed Friday's regular trade at $34.65. (The stock gained nearly 9% in Q1; MA(50)- $30.20; MA(100)- $28.90; 52-wk H/L $41.87/$22.64)

Kansas City Southern (KSU) is scheduled to report fourth-quarter results. Earnings and revenue for the quarter are expected to be $0.79 per share and $549.70 million respectively. In the year-ago quarter, the Missouri-based company earned $0.62 per share on revenues of $478.60 million. On the NYSE, the shares closed Friday at $73.39. (The stock rose almost 12% in Q1; MA(50)- $67.45; MA(100)- $61.55; 52-wk H/L $74.77/$45.63)

American Electric Power Co. (AEP) is expected to report fourth-quarter results. The utility firm is expected to earn $0.41 per share, higher than $0.38 per share earned a year earlier, on revenues of $3.45 billion. The stock closed Friday at $41.01. (The stock dropped around 2% in Q1; MA(50)- $39.85; MA(100)- $39.03; 52-wk H/L $41.98/$33.09)

Albemarle Corp. (ALB), Arrow Financial Corp. (AROW), Bank of Hawaii Corp. (BOH), Blyth, Inc. (BTH), Crane Co. (CR) and Halliburton Co. (HAL) will also report their results today.
