Medical technology company Zeltiq Aesthetics, Inc. (ZLTQ) and the charitable trust of Massachusetts General Hospital or MGH initiated a patient infringement lawsuit in France against Clinipro and its French representative.
In its suit, Zeltiq alleged infringement of a European patent for CoolSculpting technology owned by Massachusetts General Hospital and licensed to Zeltiq and sought monetary damages and an injunction against further sales of Clinipro's LipoCryo device. Zeltiq said the CoolSculpting technology is protected by numerous patents and trademarks around the world.
