Time Warner Cable (TWC: Quote) reported fourth quarter adjusted EPS of $1.39 Thursday morning, up from $0.99 in the previous year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $1.20.

Time Warner Cable gapped open higher Thursday and climbed until mid-morning. The stock ended the session higher by 5.40 at $74.51 on above average volume. Shares have been rising for the past 2 weeks and set a 6-month high.

After reporting a sharp drop in new orders for manufactured durable goods in the previous month, the Commerce Department released a report on Friday showing that durable goods orders rebounded by more than anticipated in the month of April. The report said durable goods orders surged up by 3.3 percent in April after tumbling by a revised 5.9 percent in March.
