Romania's producer prices increased from last year in December, data released by the National Institute of Statistics showed Thursday.
The producer price index increased 7 percent on an annual basis in December. Output prices in the mining and quarrying sector rose 6.2 percent year-on-year, while manufacturing prices advanced 6.9 percent.
Output prices of intermediate goods rose 6.41 percent annually, while capital goods prices moved up 3.52 percent. There was a 10.24 percent annual growth in energy prices during the month, and a 6.16 percent growth in prices in the consumer goods industry.
Month-on-month, output prices moved up 0.4 percent in December, unchanged from the rate of growth recorded in November.
