Chris Brown will remain on supervised probation for the time being.

The decision was made in a status hearing in Los Angeles on Thursday, where a judge commended Brown on his good behavior and for keeping to the terms of the probation agreement stemming from his plea deal sentence for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna three years ago before the Grammy awards ceremony in 2009.

Brown has since completed half of the six months of roadside cleanup, graffiti removal and manual labor ordered by the court, as well as the anger management and domestic violence counseling required. He has also kept to the terms of Rihanna's restraining order against him, which was relaxed on her request last year.

Brown will sing at this Sunday's Grammy awards, where he is nominated for his hit album F.A.M.E. (Forgiving All My Enemies).
