The Canadian dollar extended its previous session's uptrend against most of its major counterparts during New York morning trading on Tuesday. The loonie climbed to a new multi-month high against the yen, fresh multi-day highs versus the euro and the Aussie.

Extending its Asian and European session's upward trading, the loonie advanced further against the Japanese yen and hit a new multi-month high of 78.44 by about 10:35 am ET. At present, the pair is worth 78.41, compared to yesterday's close of 77.63.

After showing a slight weakness in early European session, the Canadian currency reversed its direction against the euro and the Australian dollar in today's New York morning. Currently, the loonie is trading near fresh multi-day highs of 1.3143 against the euro and 1.0683 versus the Aussie from Monday's closing values of 1.3187 and 1.0733, respectively.
