A video of Jessie J, taken from a school play when she was 12, is now circulating the web.
The performance footage, culled from a play titled "Bugsy Malone" at The Wenn Stage School in Essex, England features J wearing a purple hat and coat and crooning in the role of Blousey Brown.
A source, speaking with Britain's The Sun, said that, even at a young age, Jessie had star power:
"Jessie had the makings of a good voice back then and it was clear from an early age that she was a born show-off."
Jessie herself has been active on Twitter of late, paying her respects to the recently deceased Whitney Houston:
"I think today was the most emotional day of my career . . . I am lost for words and so overwhelmed. Whitney I sing because of you and will continue to do so in your honour always and forever. X."
