Alcoa Inc. (AA: Quote) announced that the company and China Power Investment Corporation or CPI announced have finalized an agreement to establish a joint venture company to produce high-end fabricated aluminum products for the China market. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Alcoa noted that the joint venture company will serve as a manufacturer of high-end fabricated aluminum products for the aerospace, automotive, commercial transportation, consumer electronics and packaging markets in China.

After reporting a sharp drop in new orders for manufactured durable goods in the previous month, the Commerce Department released a report on Friday showing that durable goods orders rebounded by more than anticipated in the month of April. The report said durable goods orders surged up by 3.3 percent in April after tumbling by a revised 5.9 percent in March.
