Elton John has added a June 16 show at the Blackpool Tower to his summer tour schedule.
The Rocket Man, who has played at the British resort town twice before with a two-night stand at the Blackpool Opera House in November 1982, said he was delighted to return to Blackpool:
"I'm looking forward to revisiting this legendary seaside town and playing on the Golden Mile."
Natalie Wyatt, managing director of Marketing Blackpool elaborated:
"This concert will mark the opening of the venue as a premier space for events and festivals and is testament to the fantastic improvements which have taken place in the resort to date. I'm sure that many visitors will come to enjoy the concert and then take the opportunity to experience everything that Blackpool has to offer whilst they are here."
John's UK tour kicks off in Taunton on June 3, with shows slated in cities including Harrogate, Belfast, Chesterfield, Newcastle and Birmingham.
