Adele shocked the audience at the Brit Awards when she gave the middle finger at Tuesday's ceremony.
The six-time Grammy winner won Album of the Year and Best British Female Solo Act awards at the ceremony and was cut off during her second acceptance speech, when she was accepting her award. When host James Corden appeared on stage, she asked "Are you about to cut me off? Can I just say then, goodbye and I'll see you next time 'round."
She then raised her middle finger to the crowd's applause and Corden introduced Blur's performance.
Corden said he was confused by the incident, telling ITV2 after the ceremony: "She's the biggest star in the world. I don't understand what happened but I'm upset about it. Blur played for 11 minutes and she didn't get chance to say thank you once."
ITV—who aired the event--has since apologized to Adele on Twitter: "We regret this happened & we send deepest apologies to Adele that her big moment was cut short tonight due to the live show over-running. We don't want this to undermine her incredible achievement in winning her incredible award. It tops off what's been an incredible year for her."
