Bucky Covington recently connected with a local Nashville charity called Help The Good Guys to bring a substantial donation to the area's firefighters and police officers in need.

The country star helped raise nearly $12,000 for the charity, which provides financial relief to cops and firefighters who are out of work after suffering on-the-job injuries.

"'Help The Good Guys' perform an amazing service for our police officers and fire fighters across the country, and I'm honored to join them in their efforts," says Covington in a statement. "It's rewarding for me to recognize these hard-working men and women and help bring some financial relief to these families in their time of need."

Covington's commitment to the cause is not limited to the Nashville area, however, as he has appeared at similar events in Detroit and Birmingham. He is also slated to host a charity motorcycle ride in Chattanooga on April 21.
