"Weeds" star Mary Louise Parker has reportedly signed on to appear in writer/director Trevor White's new project "Jamesy Boy." The film follows a young gang member who is imprisoned and taken under the wing of a convicted murderer.

Parker joins newcomer Spencer Lofranco who will play the lead role along with James Woods and Ving Rhames. Filming for the movie begins next month in Baltimore and the producers summarize the film saying:

"In prison, James fosters an unlikely friendship with a convicted murderer who ends up becoming his mentor and ultimately defines and changes the course of his life. JAMESY BOY is a film about hope and redemption, where a fighter becomes a dreamer and a kid with no faith finally sees a brighter future."

Parker is also currently preparing for a new season of "Weeds" and recently wrapped the big screen effort "R.I.P.D," starring Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges.
