Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones is recovering from heart surgery, following illness that had caused him to miss a number of recent Foreigner shows.
Jones underwent a bypass procedure at Miami Beach's Mount Sinai Heart Institute last week, according to Page Six. Sources say that the surgery "was more urgent because Mick had needed it for some time."
Reportedly, Jones, who recently turned 67, is recovering well from the surgery and was moved out of intensive care. His former wife Ann Dexter-Jones and their two children Anabelle and Alexander Dexter-Jones have been by his side.
Jones was forced to miss some shows on Foreigner's most recent tour with Journey and Night Ranger due to his illness. A planned acoustic tour to support their recent Acoustique release was converted to electric shows with a stand-in guitarist when it became apparent that Jones would not be able to make the dates.
