Power company AES Corp. (AES) is slated to report fourth-quarter results. It is expected that the company will earn $0.22 per share compared to $0.23 per share last year, on revenues of $3.46 billion. The stock closed Friday at $13.80. Lowe's Companies, Inc. (LOW) is scheduled to report fourth-quarter results. The world's second largest home improvement retailer is expected to post earnings of $0.24 per share on revenues of $11.34 billion. In the prior year, the company earned $0.21 per share on revenues of $10.48 billion. LOW closed Friday's trade at $27.16. Career Education Corp. (CECO) is expected to report quarterly results. For the fourth quarter, the company is anticipated to record a profit of $0.26 per share, a decline from $0.81 per share in the year-ago quarter, with revenues estimated at $436.52 million. The company's shares closed Friday's session at $11.93. (The stock plunged almost 39% in Q4; MA(50)- $9.50; MA(100)- $10.30; 52-wk H/L $27.60/$6.22)

Online travel services provider priceline.com Inc. (PCLN) is due to report results for the fourth quarter. Earnings and revenue for the quarter are expected to be $5.05 per share and $967.91 million respectively. Last year, the company earned $3.40 per share on revenues of $731.32 million. The stock closed Friday at $590.41. (The stock up about 4% in Q4; MA(50)- $513.59; MA(100)- $503.73; 52-wk H/L $595.84/$411.26)

URS Corp. (URS) will post fourth-quarter results today. Quarterly earnings are expected to rise year-over-year to $0.98 per share from $0.75 per share. Also, the company is anticipated to generate revenues of $2.54 billion for the quarter. URS closed Friday's regular trade at $46.62. (The stock gained nearly 18% in Q4; MA(50)- $39.40; MA(100)- $37.01; 52-wk H/L $47.28/$27.93)

Additionally, Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. (CTB), El Paso Corp. (EP), El Paso Pipeline Partners LP (EPB), Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc. (VRX), Visteon Corp. (VC), Cray Inc. (CRAY), Human Genome Sciences, Inc. (HGSI), Sina Corp. (SINA) and Vornado Realty Trust (VNO) are expected to report their results today.

German conglomerate Bayer AG said it has made an all-cash offer to acquire U.S. competitor Monsanto for $122 per share or an aggregate value of $62 billion. Bayer expects the deal to reinforce it as a Life Science company with a deepened position. Responding to recent media reports, agricultural products giant Monsanto recently had disclosed that it had received an unsolicited proposal from Bayer. Agricultural machinery maker Deere & Co. reported Friday lower profit in its second quarter, reflecting weak equipment sales. Profit and net sales, however, topped analysts' estimates. Further, the company cut its forecast for fiscal 2016 profit, while updated sales view. Failing to find a buyer, the bankrupt retailer Sports Authority decided to close its remaining stores, and the brand will cease to exist. Sports Authority, once the nation's largest sporting goods retailer, said it plans to conduct going-out-of-business sales at all of its locations that weren't already slated to close, according to a new bankruptcy court filing in Delaware.
