Five people were killed and 15 injured, including policemen, in an explosion that ripped through a rally of the Awami National Party (ANP) in Nowshera of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday.
The bomb went off soon after Provincial Chief Minister Amir Haider Hoti and other Ministers in his Cabinet left the place, Pakistan's Geo News reported.
Quoting police, the report said it was a remote-controlled bomb fixed on a motorcycle that hit the rally. The injured, including four policemen, were removed to the district headquarters hospital where the condition of five is critical.
ANP leader Zahid Khan said the target was ANP leadership and workers. Provincial Information Minister Mian Iftikhar said the ANP leadership was informed about the blast when their helicopter had left the site.
