Carlos Santana will begin a two year residency at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas this summer. The run starts in May and June, pauses, returns in September and then presses ahead through 2013.
A total of 80 shows, which are titled "Greatest Hits Live: Santana - Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow," have been scheduled.
Speaking with the Los Angeles Times, Santana hinted at having several guests playing alongside him during the run:
"Tomorrow is the unknown, so how do you rehearse the unknown? To me, the unknown is inviting African musicians to join us, or Buddy Guy or Derek Trucks or Ben Harper, people from Phish, Warren Haynes - that's what 'Tomorrow' is bringing to the House of Blues."
He added that he is currently at work on three separate albums.
