Christopher Plummer made history at the Academy Awards over the weekend, becoming the oldest star ever to take home their first Oscar. The 82-year-old actor picked up the Best Supporting Actor award for his work in "Beginners," in which he plays a museum director who comes out of the closet after his wife of 44 years dies.
"You're only two years older than me, darling," Plummer joked while accepting the award at the 84th annual Oscars. "Where have you been all my life? I have a confession to make. When I first emerged from my mother's womb, I was already rehearsing my Oscar speech."
After his acceptance speech, Plummer spoke with media saying that the Oscar buzz has reinvigorated his passion for acting:
"It's sort of a renewal, it has recharged me," he said. "I hope I can do it for another 10 years at least."
