George Strait was compelled by illness to abridge a Kansas City, Missouri concert on Saturday, February 25.
The country icon took the stage after an hour-long opening set by Martina McBride, but, after completing only one song, "Here for a Good Time," announced to the crowd, "I just can't do it."
Concertgoers reported that his voice sounded "labored and hoarse." However, many were not bitter regarding the disappointment and stood up to cheer his effort.
Tickets for the February 25 show will be honored at a Saturday, March 3 make-up date.
Strait's current tour went from late January through February; thus far, he has not announced further dates past the March 3 make-up date.
Here for a Good Time was released on September 6 and subsequently climbed to number one on the Billboard Country chart.
