Kaman Corp. (KAMN: Quote) reported fourth-quarter net income of $9.96 million or $0.38 per share, compared to $14.02 million or $0.53 per share in the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted net income for the quarter was $13.93 million or $0.53 per share, down from $20.39 million or $0.77 per share in the comparable quarter last year. On average, six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.49 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net sales for the fourth quarter rose to $378.72 million from $365.12 million a year ago, while five analysts estimated revenue of $394.74 million for the fourth quarter.

Less than a month after resigning from Congress, former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Virg., has made the move from Washington to Wall Street by joining boutique investment bank Moelis & Co.
