Black Sabbath has announced one U.S. tour date for later this year. The posting comes on the heels of the band's announcement that the members are the headlining gig at the Download festival in the U.K.

Sharon Osbourne made the announcement via VH1 Radio Network:

"They're gonna be doing one show in America this summer but I can't say yet because we can't announce it, the promoters have to. But they are doing one show in August."

She added that the band is still hard at work in the studio:

"They're doing really well in the studio. Gosh, they must have written 15 new songs already and it's going great."

Previously, the hard rock legends had more ambitious 2012 tour plans which had to be curtailed when guitarist Tony Iommi was diagnosed with cancer.
