Acme United Q4 Profit Rises

Acme United Corp. (ACU) posted fourth-quarter net income of $266 thousand, or $0.09 per share, compared to $181 thousand, or $0.06 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Net sales for the quarter were $15.84 million, compared to $13.36 million in the previous year quarter.

For the year ended December 31, 2011, net income rose to $2.8 million or $0.91 per share from $2.6 million or $0.81 per share in the year-ago period.

Net sales for the period were $73.30 million, up from $63.15 million last year.
