Green Day mouthpiece Billie Joe Armstrong has said that the band's new album will mark the first time they have sung about having sex. Armstrong revealed the tidbit while speaking in a video teaser posted on their official YouTube page.

"I think it's so personal and so voyeuristic," Armstrong said. "This is the first time we ever really sung about f***ing."

Bassist Mike Dirnt also promised that fans would enjoy the new material, claiming that it would "blow their f***ing minds".

The band have previously said that their ninth studio album will move away from the concept-theme of their last two records American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown and be more straightforward.

In November of last year, Green Day debuted their new track "Carpe Diem" during a live show in San Francisco.
