Taiwan Inflation Due On Monday

Taiwan is on Monday scheduled to release February figures for consumer and wholesale price inflation, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.

Consumer prices are expected to rise 1.3 percent on year following the 2.37 percent jump in January. WPI is called at 2.23 percent, down from 4.28 percent in the previous month.

Singapore will announce February numbers for its purchasing managers' indexes for electronics and manufacturing. The electronics PMI is expected to show a score of 50.8, up from 50.5 in January. The manufacturing PMI is called at 49.2, up from 48.7 in the previous month.

Australia will provide February data for job advertisements, inflation expectations and the AIG Performance of Services index, as well as Q4 figures for company operating profits and inventories.

Job ads were up 6.0 percent in January, while the inflation forecast in the previous month called for an increase of 0.2 percent on month and 2.2 percent on year. The services index saw a score of 51.9. Company operating profits are expected to remain flat on quarter following the 4.8 percent increase in the previous three months, while inventories are tipped to add 0.3 percent after shedding 1.1 percent in the third quarter.
