Italy Producer Price Inflation At 21-Month Low

Italy's producer price inflation decreased for the third consecutive month in January, data from statistical office ISTAT showed Monday.

Overall producer prices increased 3.3 percent year-on-year, slower than the 3.7 percent gain in December. The latest figure is the lowest since April 2010 when prices increased 3.2 percent annually.

Prices of goods sold in the domestic market increased 3.4 percent annually in January, following a 3.9 percent rise in December. Prices in foreign market climbed 2.7 percent on an yearly basis in January.

Month on-month, producer prices increased 0.7 percent in January, after remaining flat in December. Domestic prices rose 0.7 percent and foreign market prices edged up 0.3 percent on a monthly basis in January.
