Canadian airline WestJet (WJA.TO) reported a 9.9 percent rise in its February 2012 traffic to 1.499 billion revenue passenger miles or RPMs from 1.364 billion RPMs last year.
The airline's February capacity was 1.81 billion available seat miles or ASMs, up 10.9% from 1.63 billion ASMs a year earlier, while load factor for the month declined 0.9 points to 82.7% from 83.6% in February 2011.
WestJet recently announced that it would begin flying its own aircraft on daily non-stop service between Chicago and Vancouver and between Chicago and Calgary, effective May 14, 2012.
