American Apparel Reports 13 Percent Rise In February Net Sales - Quick Facts

Retailer of branded fashion basic apparel, American Apparel Inc (APP: Quote) Monday reported a 13 percent increase in total net sales for February 2012 at $42.1 million compared to the same month last year.

The company stated that comparable store sales for the month increased 10 percent and wholesale net sales increased by 24 percent over the same period last year.

Dov Charney, Chairman and CEO of the company commented :. "Our comparable store sales increase was driven by a combination of higher unit sales and an increase in average unit retail prices. Our imprintable wholesale sales continue to run at record levels across a broad base of customers and categories….."

Stocks have moved modestly lower in early trading on Wednesday, giving back some ground after closing higher in the two previous sessions.
