A photo book titled The Rolling Stones: 50 which documents visually the 50 year history of the Rolling Stones is set for release in the U.K. on July 12. The publication date commemorates the date that the group played its first show half a century ago.

Front man Mick Jagger has said that the group have "lots of special things planned" in honor of their Golden Anniversary.

He issued a statement regarding the book along with mates Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ron Wood:

"This is our story of 50 fantastic years. We started out as a blues band playing the clubs, and more recently we've filled the largest stadiums in the world with the kind of show that none of us could have imagined all those years ago."
