Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland has signed on as a cast member for the new ABC singing competition, Duets. In the program, Nettles will trek across the country in search of two competitors who will serve as her singing partners.
Robin Thicke, Lionel Richie and Kelly Clarkson have also signed on to the program.
Each week one of the celebrity members and their chosen competitor will perform a duet in front of a live studio audience.
"The concept of Duets is so fresh because its mentoring is active and participatory," Nettles said in a press release.
Thus far, ABC's forays into the world of the singing competition format, including Karaoke Battle USA and The One: Making a Music Star, have flopped.
Duets is set to premiere this summer.
