Rolling Stones legendary guitarist Keith Richards celebrated the band's Facebook page surpassing 9 million fans by posting a picture of himself holding a card saying "9,000,000 Stones Fans."
The post thanks the fans, saying, "Thanks to everyone of you Facebookers who like the Rolling Stones. It's only rock and roll but we love you!"
Though the band just recently announced the summer release of Rolling Stones: 50, a historical photo book that will be part of a year-long celebration of the Stones at 50, fans await a decision from the band on whether or not they will hit the road for a 50th Anniversary tour.
The group played its first show on July 12, 1962 at London's Marquee Club.
