Discovery has reportedly cut ties with network favorite Bear Grylls. The news comes after Grylls' contract negotiations with the network apparently were broken down. He has been the host of the network's hit show "Man Vs. Wild" since 2006.

In an official statement, Discovery explains that they made the choice to release Grylls after multiple attempts to reach an agreement:

"Due to a continuing contractual dispute with Bear Grylls, Discovery has terminated all current productions with him," the network says.

A rep for the outdoor adventure host says he is disappointed with the decision, but hopes to continue on with other projects soon:

"Disagrees with Discovery's decision to terminate current productions. Bear has loved the Man vs. Wild journey and looks forward to producing further cutting-edge content again soon for his loyal audience," Grylls rep explains.
