MarkWest Energy Partners Closes Public Offering Of 6.79 Mln Common Units

MarkWest Energy Partners L.P. (MWE: Quote) announced the closing of its public offering of 6.79 million common units at $59.54 per common unit, which includes 885,000 common units purchased pursuant to the full exercise of the underwriters' option to purchase additional common units.

MarkWest said that it intends to use the approximately $388.0 million in net proceeds from the offering, after deducting underwriting discounts, commissions and offering expenses, to partially fund its ongoing capital expenditure program.

Stocks have moved modestly higher in early trading on Wednesday, adding to the slim gains posted in the previous session. The major averages have all climbed into positive territory, although buying interest has remained relatively subdued. At his penultimate meeting, King along with Paul Fisher and David Miles sought an increase in quantitative easing by GBP 25 billion.
