Charlie Watts Wishes Stones Were Playing Queen's Diamond Jubilee

Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts admits he wishes the Stones were on the bill for the Queen of England's upcoming Diamond Jubilee concert.

While speaking with the Daily Express, Watts noted that he would have loved to join the impressive lineup assembling for the celebration.

"I'd love to have done the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, because that's a great thing, I think, but I don't think we'd have the time to do it. It'll be a night of the Sirs, won't it, with Paul McCartney and Elton. Lovely guy, Elton," Watts said.

Thus far, the Diamond Jubilee show will include performances by Ed Sheehan, JLS, Jessie J, Annie Lennox, Madness, Cliff Richard, Shirley Bassey and, of course, Elton John and Paul McCartney.

The event will take place at London's Buckingham Palace and will be televised on June 4.
