ANDRITZ Bags Order For Rehabilitation Of Inga 2 Hydropower Plant - Quick Facts

ANDRITZ AG (ADRZF.PK) said it received a contract for reconstruction and rehabilitation of two Francis units for the Inga 2 hydropower plant, DR Congo. The contract value of the project is around 45 million euros. Commissioning is scheduled for 2015.

As part of a consortium, ANDRITZ HYDRO is responsible for the entire mechanical part of the rehabilitation including the repair and overhaul of the penstocks, the hydraulic steelworks and the two Francis turbines.

ANDRITZ noted that in order to achieve high efficiency with optimum performance, high reliability and low maintenance requirements, all core parts of the turbines with runner diameters of 6.2 m will be newly designed and replaced by modern, robust equipment.

Apple Inc. said Monday that its fourth quarter profit rose 13% from last year, driven by strong sales of its iPhones and Mac computers. The company's quarterly earnings per share also came in above analysts' expectations as did its quarterly sales. At the same time, the company gave an upbeat revenue forecast for the current quarter, which includes the all important holiday season. Stocks moved notably higher over the course of the trading day on Monday, extending the strong upward move seen last Friday. The gains on the day continued the recent recovery by the markets, with the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 closing higher for the third consecutive session. Ted Cruz, R-Tex., has joined the few offering guidance on what the GOP will do if it manages to retake control of the Senate.
