Mumford and Sons played new material at their headlining South by Southwest gig, prompting many to speculate that it may have been a preview of their upcoming sophomore album.

The group hit the stage at the University of Texas' LBJ lawn on Saturday, March 18 along with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Old Crow Medicine Show.

The bands played after a showing of the rock doc, Big Easy Express, which documented the three band's five-show, eight-day rail trip that covered some 2,300 miles.

"Watching it all together, we just felt like [director] Emmett [Malloy] really captured the vibe," Marcus Mumford told Billboard. "Watching it feels like going back in time. We were all wandering around backstage . . . going, 'Wow, that was a good time.'"

Mumford and Sons set list:

"Sigh No More"

"Roll Away Your Stone"

"Lover's Eyes"

"Little Lion Man"

"Lover of the Light"

"Ghosts That We Knew"

"Awake My Soul"

"The Cave"
