The New York Times has pushed back against Gwyneth Paltrow and several other celebrities who claimed that the paper unjustly accused them of using ghostwriters. In a recent article published in their Dining section, the Times referred to Paltrow's collaborators on her cook book and now they say there's no need to alter their statement.
"Twitter and the food blogosphere quickly lighted up, and we heard from a number of people named in the article, including Jamie Oliver, Rachael Ray, Gwyneth Paltrow and Mario Batali," a writer from the Times notes in a follow up statement.
The Times notes that all four have already publicly acknowledged their use of ghostwriters and there was therefore no breach of confidentiality:
"All four have acknowledged, in print, working with collaborators on their books -- but all objected to what they saw as the implication that they were not the authors of their own work."
