The benchmark SMI is higher by 0.34 percent to 6,317.36. The SLI has climbed 0.32 percent to 970.04. The SPI has advanced 0.26 percent to 5,789.01.
Financial stocks are helping to support the advance in the major averages. Julius Baer is up 1.9 percent. Meanwhile, UBS is higher by 0.5 percent and Credit Suisse is showing a gain of 0.4 percent.
