Rumors are swirling that "Jersey Shore" star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino has entered rehab for drug and alcohol abuse. A source close to the reality star broke the news to tmz.com, noting that his partying habits have been growing increasingly more dangerous.
According to the source, Sorrentino's "hard-partying ways were worse than ever during the taping of the most recent season of Jersey Shore and so he recently checked into rehab for substance abuse."
A rep for the MTV star would not confirm the rumor, however, noting that Sorrentino did recently take several weeks off from filming in a secluded location:
"He has spent the past several weeks at an undisclosed location for much needed rest and recuperation after his extensive production and appearance schedule."
