"Parks and Recreation" star Aziz Ansari has offered up a download of his new comedy special "Dangerously Delicious" for $5 through his website. The special runs one hour in length and was taped live at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C. last summer.
Ansari broke the news of the new release via Twitter, writing: "Go to [my Web site] & download my new standup special before everyone wakes up for only $5! #DangerouslyDelicious."
He is the most recent comic to take the release of a live special into his own hands. Louis C.K. also self-released his most recent recording "Live at the Beacon Theater," moving over $1 million worth of downloads in just twelve days, reports washingtonpost.com.
"It seemed like the smartest way to deliver it," Ansari said of the release in a statement. "It makes sense that comedians would embrace something like this where you have so much control over how you're releasing stuff . . . comedians are used to being autonomous anyway."
