Alan Jackson has scheduled a concert for Mineral, Virginia, a town recently struck by an earthquake. Jackson had previously announced an online contest in which one town would be awarded a special show, depending on the results of a poll.
Mineral, which was hit with a 5.8 earthquake in August of last year, won the poll. The concert will take place behind the town's library. According to the mayor, the opening acts will play from 6 to 8 PM, and then Jackson will take the stage.
Alan is playing for free and the 6,000 available tickets will be sold to cover the show's expenses. All proceeds will go to help the county repair any lingering devastation from the quake.
Further ticket details have not yet been announced.
