Danish consumer confidence improved for the third consecutive month in March, data from Statistics Denmark showed Thursday.
The consumer confidence index increased to -0.4 from -4.8 in February. In January, the reading was -7.
Consumers continue to expect improvement in their economic situation in a year, with the respective indicator broadly unchanged at 8.5. Meanwhile, the indicator reflecting the consumers' view of their economic situation in the past increased to -2.0 from -6.1 in February.
Households turned more optimistic about the economic situation of the country over the next twelve months. The relevant index climbed strongly to 10.4 from 1.7 in February. They also considered the present economic situation in the country has improved from the past as the corresponding index rose to -10.5 from -18.5 in the previous month.
Consumers also considered the present situation as favorable for making big purchases. The corresponding index rose to -8.5 from -9.7 in February.
