Signet Jewelers Q4 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

Signet Jewelers Ltd. (SIG, SIG.L) announced Thursday a rise in fourth-quarter profit to $156.6 million, or $1.79 per share, from last year's $105.4 million, or $1.21 per share. The prior-year result included a Make Whole Payment of $29.5 million, or $0.34 per share, the company added.

Seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $1.77 per share. Analysts' estimates usually exclude special items.

Total sales for the period went up 6.6 percent to $1.35 billion from $1.27 billion, with same-store sales improving 6.9 percent. Six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated revenues of $1.36 billion.

The company's Board also proposed raising quarterly dividend to $0.12 per share from $0.10 per share.
