NBC has announced that they are currently seeking a new chief writer/producer to run their perennial hit series "The Office." The show's current chief Paul Lieberstein, who also plays Dunder Mifflin HR chief Toby Flenderson, is reportedly eyeing a job with Rainn Wilson's new spin-off series title "The Farm."
According to ew.com, Lieberstein is likely to continue appearing as Flenderson on the show, but will not serve as a writer or producer. Lieberstein is just one of several Dunder Mifflin regulars that are exiting the show including Wilson and Mindy Kaling, who is currently developing a comedy pilot for Fox.
NBC also confirmed recently that James Spader will not return to the show as Dunder Mifflin's CEO. Rainn Wilson recently explained that NBC is still "mulling over" the spin-off show and says it would "be even more far-out than The Office . . . it's a good idea."
