Tourist arrivals in Turkey decreased from last year in February, data released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism showed Friday.
The number of tourists arriving in the country decreased 7.59 percent year-on-year on an annual basis to 997,571in February, after rising 0.6 percent in the previous month. Excursionists accounted for 0.82 percent of the total visitors.
Arrivals from Germany fell 4.67 percent annually, while visitors from France dropped 10.96 percent. There was a 10.53 percent year-on-year decrease in visitor arrivals from Italy during the month.
In the two months ended February, the number of visitors decreased 3.7 percent from the corresponding period last year to 1,979,182. As much as 0.75 percent of the total visitors during the period was excursionists, the agency said.
