The Beastie Boys will take their rightful place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year, and will be inducted by hip-hop godfather Chuck D of Public Enemy. The 27th annual ceremony takes place in Cleveland April 14.
The Beasties will be inducted into the Rock Hall alongside Guns N' Roses, who present one of the year's biggest stories, as it is still uncertain if the original lineup will reunite to be inducted, as well as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who will be inducted by comedian Chris Rock, the Small Faces/The Faces, inducted by E Street Band member "Little" Steven Van Zandt, Donovan, to be inducted by John Mellencamp, late pop singer/songwriter Laura Nyro, inducted by Bette Midler and blues guitar icon Freddie King, set to be inducted by ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill.
The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be televised on HBO on May 5 at 9 p.m. The Hall has promised that more details about performances, presenters and special guests would be announced at a later date.
