AstraZeneca Says US Court Dismissed Lawsuit Without Prejudice Against FDA

AstraZeneca Plc (AZN: Quote,AZN.L) said that the US District Court denied the company's request for a preliminary injunction application against the FDA and dismissed the lawsuit without prejudice.

On March 23, the US District Court for the District of Columbia issued an opinion and order in AstraZeneca's lawsuit against the FDA regarding final marketing approval of generic quetiapine.

Notwithstanding the Court's decision, the company continues to believe strongly in the merits of its position and is evaluating its options.

Germany consumer confidence is set to improve further in August to the strongest level since December 2006 despite escalating geopolitical tensions in Israel and Ukraine, data from market research group GfK showed Friday. The company also forecast an operating loss for the current quarter. After failing to sustain an initial upward move, stocks showed a lack of direction throughout much of the trading day on Thursday. The major averages eventually closed nearly unchanged, turning in a mixed performance for the second straight day.
