Netherlands' economy contracted at a slower rate than estimated earlier in the fourth quarter, final data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics showed Tuesday.

Gross domestic product decreased a seasonally and calendar-adjusted 0.6 percent sequentially in the fourth quarter, slightly slower than the 0.7 percent fall estimated earlier. The rate of fall was, however, faster than the 0.4 percent decrease seen in the third quarter.

Year-on-year, the economy shrunk at a slower rate of 0.6 percent during the three-month period than the 0.7 percent contraction seen in the flash estimates. In the third quarter, GDP increased 1.1 percent annually.

Household consumption decreased at a faster rate than previously estimated in the fourth quarter, while the services trade balance was adjusted upwards, the agency said.
