Australian comedian/actress Rebel Wilson is set to join the cast of the true crime drama "Pain and Gain" from director Michael Bay.
The plot centers on a group of bodybuilders whose nefarious plan to kidnap and extort goes awry. Wilson has been cast in the role of Ramona Eldridge, a member of the musclebound kidnappers, who goes to jail for her role in the scheme.
Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, Ed Harris, Tony Shalhoub, Anthony Mackie and Rob Corddry also star in the Paramount production, produced by Bay, Ian Bryce and Donald De Line.
Wilson is best known for her role as Kristen Wiig's roommate in the film "Bridesmaids." She is also starring in the upcoming "What to Expect When You're Expecting."
The film, which begins shooting in Miami this spring, is based on a true story.
