Will Ferrell has confirmed that he will reprise his classic role as 1970's news anchor Ron Burgundy in a sequel to the 2004 hit film "Anchorman." Ferrell made the announcement by appearing in character on Conan O'Brien's late night series earlier this week.
Ferrell burst onto the set as Burgundy to break the news, blasting out his signature jazz flute to jam with the house band. He also took a few comedic shots at Conan, saying: "You look like someone put a bright-red fright wig on a skeleton and chucked it out of a helicopter."
Ferrell did break character enough to put out the official word, however, adding:
"Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to 'Anchorman,'" Ferrell said. "There will be a sequel."
