Queen have announced that Sonisphere Festival U.K. has been canceled, according to a statement the band posted on their website.
"It is with very heavy hearts and much regret that we announce the cancellation of Sonisphere Knebworth 2012," read the statement, which was later removed. A statement posted on the Sonisphere website read, "Putting the festival together in what is proving to be a very challenging year was more difficult than we anticipated and we have spent the last few months fighting hard to keep Sonisphere in the calendar."
Queen, fronted by Adam Lambert, were set to be one of the headliners at the festival, which was to take place at Knebworth Park on July 6 to 8. Other acts scheduled to perform Sonisphere included KISS, Evanescence, Marilyn Manson, Cypress Hill, Faith No More, the Darkness, Incubus and others.
